More about Kai:

Kai has been competing successfully up to the 5* Level in Eventing – he was placed multiple times at Badminton, Luhmühlen and Pau and represented Germany at the 2009 and 2011 Europeans, in 2010 he was selected for the WEG at Kentucky but missed out due to an injury of his horse “TSF Karascada M”. In 2012 he was selected as a reserve for the London Olympics. 

He has competed with over 60 different horses in nearly 600 FEI competitions, in all this years he has produced many young horses from their first cross country jumps over the German Bundeschampionat up to the World Championships for young horses at Le Lion d’Angers. 

In addition to that Kai started already early to train other riders and can look back on many medals at youth championships and great results of his students up to 5* level, he is a german Trainer A and succeeded his “Bereiter-Exam” with distinction – together with his wife Lara de Liedekerke-Meier, a Tokyo Olympian,  they run “Arville Sporthorses” out of their home base Arville in Belgium – they have produced many horses that went on to become Championship horses all over the world. 

Kai is a FEI Level 3 Course Designer and also builds the courses for the “Concours Complet d’Arville” a show that includes the Belgian Nations Cup Leg and runs every year in August with classes from 1* - 4*.  

Since 2021 he is the Senior Team Manager of Belgium - in this time Belgium qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and won the FEI Nations Cup Series in 2023.

Kai is now more and more concentrating on clinics and coaching – he teaches regularly in Belgium, Germany, France and the USA. In his clinics he welcomes everybody who is willing to learn – Kai loves to give more confidence to horse and rider and to help them understand the ideas of modern Eventing.
